Red Letter Day

I remember my first review of Windows. My heart was pounding in my chest and I was terrified that the reviewer, a woman I only knew as Ms Rhonda, would hate it. She didn't. She was extraordinarily complimentary about my writing and more importantly about my Nick. Rhonda Scales, Library Coordinator Extraordinaire was (and I hate having to use that word) a remarkable woman, who went straight to God's embrace on Saturday 9 March 2013.

Rhonda didn't just champion my book. Before I was ever 'stalked' by Jeanie and Jayha, Rhonda set up a whole book club, promoting a little bit of naughtiness to brighten a day, highlighting authors of IR/MC within a multitude of genres. It's impossible to understand that she's no longer here, especially after I had the honour of meeting her at the BTP Meet & Eat last year. Funny, doesn't cover it. Rib breakingly hilarious. She was out there and embraced life. I could freely email her and get a cheeky response back, mainly - when's the next goodness coming. I found support and encouragement and a shoulder to boo hoo on when it all got a bit too much. A fabulous, exemplary woman whom I will miss terribly. I won't be alone either.

So come Atlanta, I shall be wearing the above heels in honour of Ms Rhonda. God bless and I hope you got to take that whip and those boots with you to heaven. Xxxxxxx

Get Down

What music gets me in the mood? Given three quarters... alright, all of Vintage Pleasures revolves around Sabra getting Tristan to unpack his instruments, I needed a little aural assistance, so this is what inspired me to feel the shiver of light BDSM. As you were my good people! You won't be judged here.

  1. Twista ft Pharrell Williams Give It Up
  2. Beyonce ft Lady Gaga Video Phone
  3. 702 You Don't Know

Whip It

First release of 2013! Huzzah and hurrah! It's a flash fiction, which means I overcompensated at 6300 words but in such brevity, you're getting a hella load of bang for your buck. Really. It's for those who like a little pain with their pleasure, a little shimmy with their feather boas and a little ice for their... well. Read it and see. It's still Nikki Winters' fault. Don't let her tell you any different.

Smack That

So whilst trying to make my other characters jealous of attention I lavished on other characters - my life is complicated - I finished a story for the ultimate Dominatrix, Ms Shara Azod. Now, I've had many a discussion or argument, I like to think discussion, with Nikki Winter about whether I'm vanilla or not. I think I'm vanilla. I think all my previous stories have been erotic of course, but not double chocolate chip, swirled with hazelnuts, caramel sauce and praline crackle on the top erotic. This short story, is. I've got paddles, canes, swings, clothes pegs, burlesque, photography and the art of tease. Yeah, I went a little bit wild and it's definitely all Nikki's fault.
On the other hand, I so hope you all enjoy it. Being strong woman, the submissive/dominant thing can be difficult to understand. I did a lot, a lot of reading around (and staring at some pretty risque photos, sometimes research is fun!) and the general consensus is that a sub has all the power, because they are the ones that make the choices. It's not weakness to trust someone with your body, it's empowering. When it really comes down to it, the submissive has the dominant doing everything they want all for their own sexual satisfaction. I'm sure you'll all tell me what you think when it's out. And before anyone asks, no, I do not do burlesque. I'm a bit of an exhibitionist, but burlesque? I can't do the nipple tassle thing with my chest. I'd hit myself in the face.

Hot In The City

Jubilate my people! Beautiful Trouble Publishing are having another conference and this time, it's happening in Atlanta, Georgia. One shall be valium-ed up to the eyeballs to do my nine hour flight across the Atlantic to hopefully articulate soberly on all manner of topics and jump in whenever one feels like it.

Last year was brilliant in any case, because I got to meet my extended family and this year there will be even more goodness for you to indulge in. There will be prizes, a buffet, sensual readings a jolly host of stuff!

It's the only conference I'm going to - because while I like being in warm climates, me and planes do not agree. Click here to see all the event details!

Tick The Box

Happy New Year everyone! It's already started with good news. Beautiful Trouble Publishing (aka my original stalkers) have been selected by the Critters Writers Workshop as a contestant in their annual poll. This huge kahungas (I know that word technically means breasts and collectively we do have huge kahungas) but its a big deal and I'd love it if BTP received some much deserved recognition. This is the poll:

http://www.critters.org/predpoll/ebookpublisher.shtml

- Paste this link into your browsers
- Scroll downward until you see BTP listed in the publisher list
- Follow directions to vote
- Scroll to bottom of page and follow directions to make sure vote is submitted properly (so it can be counted).

Voting closes midnight on Thursday 10 January 2013.

Any votes greatly appreciated. These ladies work hard to bring quality reading material to you the reader, where others wouldn't have dared to tred. If you had seen my unedited sex scenes, were parts of people's anatomy were emoting - you'd understand.

Thanks hugely in advance!

Old Timer

So. Massimo's the next Italian Knight. *twiddles thumbs* I can sense the doubt drifting out there and honestly, when I finished Windows, it was the last thing on my mind. Quite frankly, I'd got a load off my chest and would happily not think about any of those Da Canaveze people or what they went through again. Moreover, I'm Gina/Lyds/Annie/Frankie in age group. Why would I write something that would be inherently 'sugar daddy' ish? And I'd have to think about grey pubes. Oh, cripes, I'm so sorry, that's not helping is it? No. Right.

So there's a reason why Nick embodies so much of what will make me break out the good underwear, the stockings, the violet wands, ball gag and handcuffs. He's like his dad. We're on the same page now aren't we? If we're not, let me break it down for you. Beware. *SPOILERS* This whole play is Massimo's stage, he's been directing it since before my parents gave each other the sexy eye in South London. Does he take nonsense from people? Absolutely not. Hell if he'd had the tiniest inkling about Santori's plans, do you really think that mother fucker would have lived long enough to even try and be a blip on Nick's radar? No. Is he forgiving? One name. Mary Alice. That bitch. I still hate her. I don't think I've ever hated a character as much as I hate that bitch. Is he elegant and stylish? Uh huh! Suited and booted every day. Plays chess and listens to jazz. He is cultured, refined, educated, calculating, and his sons get all their good looks from him. *SPOILERS DONE*

I was talking to my mother about a seventy odd year old man who nearly gave his wife an STD - don't ask how I found out about this. Old people having diseased sex. Wait, wait, roll it back. Old people having sex full stop. Obviously, I was shocked out of my skin and she asked me, point blank, "Do you feel any older today than you did ten years ago?" Honestly, apart from the hangovers which take a good week to recover from? No. I don't. "Do you think I don't still feel twenty four inside, before I had you and your brothers and it was just me and your father?" Yes, mother I know. I borrowed Daddy's awesome sheepskin coat. Found a condom in the pocket from the late seventies which expired just after you two got married, so I know you two weren't all pure and such before you said your vows. Obviously, I didn't say that to her face, because I'm still alive.

The truth is, why would the same not apply to Massimo? He's a single man who needs a challenge. A nice challenge. Belinda's going to do that for him - loud, African and proud. I have aunts (African aunts - not actual blood aunts) who have been alone and abandoned for so long and then they meet someone, and good lord the freakin' scandal, you'd have thought they'd have made a sex tape of them having a threesome with Piers Morgan and Simon Cowell. (heave) But I wanted to write something that says whatever your age, it's never too late to find love. To be happy. Why not? Why waste the days of your life conforming to someone else's ideas of love and passion? Typically, Belinda's the busybody, who'd be so much happier if she was getting some on the regular. So sod it. This story is more of a love letter to Massimo and Belinda as individuals as it is a love story between the two of them. For their histories as immigrants who created lives for themselves in London; their faith; their experiences; their wisdom and their sexuality. I've learned much more about what I want for my own future in writing this and I'm really rather proud of my older people lovin'.

And by the way? He hasn't greyed. Anywhere. Alright? So there. Just wait. Massimo. My O.G. In every sense of that abbreviation.
