What A Man...

Hello there my Tony the Tiger! He's grrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeat! Two down and three more to go...

Caristo on Amazon

Caristo's Blurb

Tony Caristo was just minding his own business, waiting for his selfish bullet-magnet of a best friend to get out of surgery, when the sexiest nurse he’d ever even imagined walked right up to him, all luscious figured, to give him a right telling off with an Irish-lilted wit. All she missed was a fig leaf and a snake around her shoulders. His interest absolutely piqued, he sets himself up to do something about her, pretty damn quick. Tony isn’t a man given to waiting around for good things to happen to him. And Lydia is all good; every single, five foot eight, double F-cupped inch of her. When Lydia asks his best friend, Nick for a favour, Nick reminds him just what a useful friend he is by letting Tony handle it. And Tony cannot wait to handle all of her…

Lydia Mills doesn’t have any time for nonsense, especially since she’s looking after her younger brother. She just needs to get him into university, without getting him killed by an ex-boyfriend she thought was well shot of. Fed up of literally trying to kick some sense into the fool, Lydia figures her only option is to have someone else do the kicking. Once she turns to Nick Da Canaveze for help as a last resort, he promptly hands her problem over to Tony Caristo to do the hard work, completely convinced that Lydia will come through it all in one piece As she takes in the eejit’s stealth, intelligence, utterly inappropriate wit and gorgeous bum, Lydia soon understands Nick’s confidence in his friend. Moreover, she really starts to worry what she’ll do without Caristo and his busy hands when the job is done.

On Caristo's Watch is the second in the Italian Knights Series, showing that behind every criminal mastermind is a woman who will drive him to distraction with a look, a quip and a dress made to start all sorts of trouble.

Caristo's Excerpt

Tony knocked on Lydia’s door. He was doing this the polite way, as tomorrow they’d have a secure enough location to accost Kelvin Hammond. Good God, what had she been thinking? Well, she had said it was a Christmas party. Nurses hardly held back on the booze when it was free.
Lydia opened the door with a suspicious look on her face, her hair messily finger combed away from her forehead. There wasn’t a stitch of makeup on her face, but her eyelashes curled naturally toward her brows, her cheekbones glossy and tinged red beneath the mocha skin. The corner of his mouth tilted upwards. She had to be the most naturally beautiful woman he’d ever met, even though she wore a top that was bleached at the elbow and pyjama bottoms he’d seen in a toothpaste advert in the eighties.
“Hi,” she said slowly, confused.
“All right, Lyds?”
Her mouth tightened disapprovingly. “When did you start calling me Lyds?”
“About five minutes after I met you. Can we come in?”
We? Who’s ‘we’?”
Tony nodded toward the guys behind him. “These lot. We’re redoing your windows first and fitting a proper security system.”
He edged his voluptuous new friend to the side as the men gave her a polite nod and they entered one by one with all sorts of equipment. “You can’t! I rent this place!”
“Yeah, I know. But your windows as they are won’t support the system. So we have to change them. And your door too. Let’s just go out.”
“No!” She heaved with horror. “Jonathan’s not here! I have knickers drying on my radiator!”
Tony paused to enjoy that image for a moment. “They won’t care. Come on.”
“I’m wearing pyjama bottoms!”
He sighed. “No, still don’t care. We’re going down the road, for a few hours.”
Grabbing her coat, and not bothering with keys as she’d be getting a whole new set anyway, he hustled her out of the flat and down the stairs.
“Why are you manhandling me?”
“I get moody when I’m hungry. And I’m hungry.”
It was best she knew that sort of thing now, to avoid any awkward growls and conversations. “There’s a cafĂ© around the corner.”
“That little Spanish place? Yes, that’s where we’re going.”
Lydia frowned. “And you know that little Spanish place because?”
“I know everywhere in London that does good food.” She made a dismissive noise in her throat. Tony looked down at her. “What was that sound? It was halfway between a goat in pain and a lion giving birth.”
Her mouth fell open for a moment before she burst out laughing. “You’ve missed your calling on the comedy circuit. Although you would have to grow more of a beard than the designer tickle you’ve got on your jaw. And put on another five stone.”
“Who says I didn’t?” he teased. She shook her head.
“You’re a plonker, but you’re lucky this place now has a liquor licence.”
Tony hooked an arm around her shoulders. “I know having a drink is like a blood transfusion for you.”
She gave him a sharp slap on the arm. “Just because I’m Irish!”

He grinned, holding the door open for her. “I don’t do stereotypes.”

Talk Dirty

This weekend, I'll be reformatting On Caristo's Watch to include all the goodies I'll have with Windows and it's sexy new cover.

Reading through it, I know that my characters truly are alive. There is no way in hell I would say even a quarter of the things that Tony says or Lydia comes up with. I mean, look at this: "I quite like having you within arse-spanking distance." Who says that? Anthony Caristo says that. He's so pleased with himself. Too pleased with himself.

And this: "There! Tell me I can't cook a flaming risotto!"

Lydia. Darling. I love you. But cooking is not your strong point. It's not a weak point. It's not a point in your vast array of charms.

Then Tony throws out this threat: "You are never allowed to address her as a bitch, fat or otherwise. Because if I press here... you don't ever walk again."

Uncontrollable. Not from my mind but completely and utterly out of my hands. I had nothing to do with it.

Any stand out lines for you up there? Let me know if Tony talks to you, or Lydia tells you off, or if anything Nick throws out that raised your eyebrows, had you chuckling or stuck in your mind. Quote the line in the comments section and put yourself up for winning a copy of the new version of On Caristo's Watch. Kinda like a collector's item.

No Tony. That does not include you.

Lydia Take Your Time

Carrying on the Italian Knights and their Ladies of London count down to IK5, this is Tony and Lydia's interview. Brace yourselves, folks...:

  • Who are you closest to?
Tony

I do have a best friend that I've known since I was four but now he's all loved up and shit not sure I trust him not to blurt out everything to his missus. Nicky, I'm only telling the truth, which you still can't handle. (You know I love you G.)

Lydia

My baby brother, Jonathan. I don't know what the hell what my parents were thinking, having another baby, when clearly, I should have been enough. But he's here and he's lovely. There isn't a thing he doesn't know about me. He is a teenager though, so maybe there's plenty about him I don't. Why are teenage boys such crafty little buggers?

  • What is your earliest memory?
Tony

I, at the age of two, two and a half, thought it was amusing to pour a pound of sugar into our VHS recorder. See if the sugar produced any pictures on the TV. I do now on regular occasions replace my parents TV and DVD player just to keep apologising. Hey, it's how I get fed. Have you seen me? I need shit loads to keep going.

Lydia

Walking along La Pleasure beach, in Accra, with my mum. I remember how my mum had bright red nail varnish on her toes and my little dress was pink. I was three. And sand was freaking me out.

  • Describe the last time you remember feeling really happy.
Tony

I do think it was relief more than happiness, but having Lydia tell us, us as in me, Gina, Paul and Sofia that Nick was out of surgery and awake, that was pretty close to euphoria. I'm not gay, shut up.

Lydia

When Jonny got into college without a single hiccup. I've never been so proud!

  • What is your biggest fear?
Tony

Does not compute, love. I don't have fears. If I had the brass palle to hack into the Swedish government database at the age of twelve,  nothing much is going to change that twenty odd years later. What do you mean if someone messed with my food? Has someone touched my food?

Lydia

Losing my family. I knew I was always going to come to London to work and be nurse, but the idea of being without even a single member of my family scares the beejesus outta me.

  • What are you best at?
Tony

Working with anything technological. Dancing. Knowing exactly where to spank a woman to make her forget everything.

Lydia

Practical, logical reasoning. And ignoring it to do exactly what I want.

  • Tell us something that will shock us
Tony

I have no issues with my family. There. Now work me out.

Lydia

I'd have no problem ending someone's life if they interfered with my family. Trust me, I wouldn't even lose sleep over it.

  • What do you value in a partner
Tony

If I say a decent rack, are you going to hit me?

Lydia

Persuasion. Kink. A little danger. But most of all, a love and understanding of what family means to me.

  • What is your biggest regret?
Tony

Not hanging around hospitals enough. Could have met an Irish beauty much sooner.

Lydia

Ever going out with that eejit Kelvin.

  • What would you change about your life?
Tony

My life is awesome. All it needs is a little addition called Lydia Atta Mills and it'll be even more awesome.

Lydia

I'd tell my pussy to calm down around Tony Caristo. For my own sake.

  • What item can't you live without?
Tony

My phone. I can rule the world from it.

Lydia

Food. Hold on. Does Tony count as an item?
